New Student Information
Updated: 08 December 2012
New application and tuition fees started with
2011 academic year for non-EU/EEA students
(on Campus)
Application and Tuition Fees:
Gotland University follows the new application and tuition
fee system established by the
Swedish Ministry for Education and
Research in February 2010. The fees took effect with the 2011-2012 academic
class year in accordance with the tuition legislation for students who are
citizens of countries outside the European Union, the European Economic Area
(EEA), and Switzerland.
Different tuition fees apply across the various degree programs and individual
courses offered at Gotland University. The university administration has
established a tuition fee of Swedish kroner
SEK135,000.00 for the Wind Power Project
Management program. A standard application fee of
SEK 900.00 applies to all programs and is
administered separately by University Admissions.
There will be some exceptions for certain exchange student
categories, and a range of
scholarships will be
offered available to offset the new regulations. For additional details please
go to Study in Sweden
and University Admissions.
Important Notice: Students accepted and fully enrolled in the Wind Power Project Management 2010-2011 academic year are not affected by the new tuition fees.

Required Application Support Documents:
Letter of Reference (LoR)
Applicants to Wind Power Project Management who are recent graduates of bachelor or advanced academic studies should obtain their letter of reference from a major subject professor. Applicants with post graduation employment experience, i.e., those returning to academic studies directly from industry, should request the reference letter from a current or an immediate past employer.
The objective of the letter of reference is to gain a professional profile of the applicant. Reference letters must be personal in the sense of the referee’s knowledgeable academic or professional relationship with the applicant, i.e., a referee who can speak personally to the applicant’s motivation, responsibility and commitment qualities. A teacher who knows the applicant from an academic assessment is an example, or in the case of an employer someone who has observed the applicant in teamwork and responsibility situations. The referee should illustrate the circumstances that support their views.
Reference letters must in English and obvious in their intended purpose, i.e., that of connecting the applicant with their intentions toward the study of Wind Power Project Management at Gotland University. Letters must be dated (current date) and contain clear contact information on academic or organization letterhead. The referee’s name must be legible (printed) and signed with original signature.
Important Note: Letters of a “To Whom it May Concern” format, or with an obvious intent of a mass mailing document (i.e., photocopies) are not acceptable.
Applicants are required to arrange for this document, but the letter format is left open to the referee’s discretion. There is no template or standard format to be followed.
Reference letters must be sent directly by the referee to
Gotland University to the following address:
Bahri Uzunoglu, PhD
Associate Professor
MSc Program Director
Department of Energy Technology
Gotland University
Cramérgatan 3
621 67 Visby
Sweden
The envelope should be marked on the outside, “Reference letter for (name of applicant).”
Letter of Motivation (LOM)
Applicants are required to submit an original letter of motivation, one that projects a clear statement of purpose regarding wind energy/wind power study at Gotland University and your anticipated personal contributions to the program as a student. We are interested in your personal perceptions of wind power in general and vision of the industry as a career path. Expectations of the Wind Power Project Management program at Gotland University are equally important and your views should be expressed openly.
Your letter of motivation must be written in clear English, of approximately 600 words, or one page. Please note carefully: the statement of purpose letter must be original; no copies, of your own personal composition, dated and signed.
Curriculum Vitae (CV)
A resume, or CV, for purposes of a Wind Power application support document is a simple outline of academic, personal, and professional interests and accomplishments to date. There is no standard CV format to be followed. All individuals are different and there are no predetermined values as to expected CV length or content. Grade point averages (GPA) are not compared with other applicants. The intent of the CV is to serve in partial support of the Letter of Motivation, and both documents contribute to building a profile of individual applicants.
Typically, a CV will include the full range of academic achievements and degrees, awards, personal contributions to social or professional organizations, special skills, computer literacy, language skills, memberships, research and personal interests, publications possibly, and employment experience (if any). The CV must be in English, and should not exceed 2 pages. Applicants are required to submit this document.
There are numerous internet examples to guide the writing of a CV should there be any doubts about an acceptable format.

be submitted in hard copy by mail to:
