How to plan for wind power to utilize wind energy, and at the same time minimize the impact of the surrounding environment? The netbased course Wind Power Planning is about this and how to use land as efficient as possible for energy production. Wind power policies, spatial planning, planning strategies/methods, laws and regulations, energy policy, support systems, opinion and acceptance, visual impact of wind turbines, noise and shadows etc. will be studied. Also, the wind power policy and planning strategy in the student’s own region or municipality will be analysed.
Gotland University has since 1998 arranged courses on wind power within the subject Energy Technology with focus on project development and planning. The courses are given on a part-time distance learning basis. The main part of the English courses is also offered in Swedish.
Read more about the subject Wind Power and our courses at www.hgo.se/windpower. Course meetings are offered, one occasion each term. These are usually very interesting. Transport during the gathering to the study visits will be done by the teachers. The accommodation, food and journey to and from the course gathering are paid by the student. The language used will be Swedish.
