Today several offshore wind power farms are in operation and many more are being built and planned. The prerequisites for offshore wind power are different from those on land. The Wind Power Offshore course will give you knowledge in terms of wind resources, planning, the permission process, environmental impact, technology, the supply chain, grid connection, operation and maintenance. Laws and regulations in this sector and experiences from realized offshore projects will be studied.
Since 1998 Gotland University has arranged courses on wind power within the subject Energy Technology with focus on project development and planning. The courses are given on a part-time distance learning basis. The first English course took place in 2004, now the main part of the English courses is also offered in Swedish.
