This course explores various energy sources and their environmental impact, locally, regionally as well as globally.
The global energy production and consumption of different forms of energy, e.g. fossil fuels, nuclear energy, biomass energy, solar energy, wind energy and wave energy as well as technical knowledge of these energies is examined.
Climate change and the other important environmental impacts of increased greenhouse effect, acidification, eutrofication will be investigated. Support schemes for renewable energy production are explored.
