Introduction to 3D-Graphics 15 HP

Back to the overview page

Quick info

This introduction to 3D for games and film gives the student a good starting point for further work or studies in the area. Apart from the user interface the focus is on modelling and texturing while lighting, rendering and animation is also covered.

Good computer literacy is recommended. To fully take part of the course material a computer with sound and broadband access is also a must-have as lectures may be given as streaming video that a modem connection of older standard might have problems handling. Handouts complement the lectures.

We work with 3dsMax and since this is a distance course students must supply themselves with working software. Trial and student versions are available at www.autodesk.com. An image editing program, such as Photoshop by Adobe, for working with textures and reference images is also recommended.
