Master Programme in International Management (MIM), 60 ECTS
One-year programme of study
The Master in International Management Programme at Gotland University prepares you for doing business in an international business environment where companies are in need of managers capable of dealing with the challenges posed by internationalization and working in multicultural settings. The program, being of high academic quality offers a selection of subjects in combination with a master thesis intended to develop the student’s creativity, analytical skill and communication ability. The programme is taught with a strong focus on current global and regional business issues.
The programme encompasses a total of 60 ECTS credits - which means one year of full time studies. 40 ECTS-credits are awarded for long (7,5 ECTS) and short (2 ECTS) courses and seminar series. The remaining 20 ECTS-credits are allocated to the master thesis. Thesis work covers the entire spring term and is interwoven with seminars, short course modules and student presentations. Topic for the master thesis is preferably chosen among organizations and firms in the close region. Topic is carefully chosen by the student together with the teacher. Students who have fulfilled the examination requirements will receive the Degree of Master (one year) of Science in Business Administration, with a focus on International Management. This corresponds to the Swedish "Ekonomie Magister" .
Examples of long courses are International Marketing, Multinational Finance, and Small Business Management. Examples of short courses are Cross-Cultural Communication, Theory of Science, and Research Methodology.
Entrance requirements include a Bachelor degree in business administration subjects. A proficiency test in English is required for foreign student admission and English is the language of course literature and instruction.
From Autumn 2011 non EU citizens need to pay tuition fees is Sweden. For the MIM programme the tuition fee will be 80 000 SEK (Swedish Crowns) per year.
